  • Eden SANCHEZ-GAGIANO

    MANAGING DIRECTOR

    Eden is the Managing Director of Ducat Energy RSA, and also has the responsibility for the trading book of the firm. Eden’s educational and technical skills include a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Quantitative Methods and Business Management from UNISA, and Trading Oil on International Markets from Churchill College, Cambridge University. Eden has been in the Oil and Energy industry for over 15 years, with past experience working as both an operator and trader in London, Geneva, Singapore and Dubai for OMV, Addax and Arcadia and locally in South Africa for Kepu.

  • Rory CLARK

    DIRECTOR

    Rory is the Director of Ducat-Senzomix, the warehousing and logistics business in Southern Africa. He is an experienced logistics professional with a history of working in the mining, energy and commodities supply chain sector in Africa. He is also a skilled Commercial Director, with over 15 years experience in Project Management, Operations and Supply-Chain Management. He has previously worked in leadership roles at Beacon Point Logistics, Future Focus Zimbabwe (the operating partner of Dakota Mine) and DSV. Rory has an interest in energy and sustainability and also worked with City Industrial Property Fund on their energy and sustainability strategy. He is a graduate of the University of KwaZulu Natal with a B.Comm in Finance and Economics.

  • Thiru GOVENDER

    DIRECTOR

    Thiru Govender heads the DUCAT LPG desk for Southern Africa, including our branded “Ubuntu: Giving Power to Mzansi” product line. Mr Govender is an experienced petroleum and energy industry professional having worked for over 30 years in the sector in South Africa, primarily at Engen. He has held various management roles, covering Refinery Planning, Crude Planning, Scheduling and Operations. Before leaving Engen, he was the Supply Manager covering Supply Chain / Logistics, Infrastructure Planning and Contract Negotiations. Thiru has a Certificate in Tanker Ownership, Chartering and Operations from Oxford Princeton (The College of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UK) and Princeton Energy Programme (Princeton, New Jersey, USA)) and holds a NQF 8 Certification from the Wits Business School for Leadership in Oil and Energy.

  • Pierre CRONJE

    OPERATIONS

    Pierre started his career as a wet tanker operator at Unical Tankers, subsequently Unicorn Tankers (Grinrod) covering shipping services of petroleum products across Africa, with a customer base covering BP, Shell, Chevron, Engen, Total, SASOL and PetroSa. He then moved to Calulo Shipping as a Tanker broker. He has subsequently covered inland and port logistics for liquid and product cargoes. Pierre has overall responsibility for operations across the business. He is a graduate of Varsity College.

  • Nico Janse van NOORDWYK

    FINANCE

    Nico is the Finance Director of Ducat Energy RSA. An experienced finance and treasury professional, he worked for 5 years in the transport division for a leading international travel company before working for a Southern African energy distributor since 2020. Nico is a registered accountant and tax practioner in South Africa and a graduate of Northlink College – UNISA.

  • Renata GIARDINO

    Renata Giardino is part of the Treasury team; with responsibility for our systems architecture ( ASPECT, Dynamics, in-house risk management ) and treasury functions. She is a finance and accounting professional with over 14 years experience in the petroleum and downstream energy sector in Southern Africa. Her previous roles have been, an Accountant and HR Payroll Administrator at OTI Petro Smart (Pty) Ltd and Finance & Administration Manager at FJ Intens International.

    She is a graduate of Senior University State of Wyoming, where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and is also a graduate of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology where she obtained a ND in Company Administration.

  • Pascal QUITT

    Pascal QUITT, is the CFO of DUCAT Capital SA and sits on the investment committee for DUCAT RSA. Starting as an Auditor at Moore Stephens, he then he covered the Energy sector at Société Générale ( Paris, Geneva) before joining Trafigura. There he oversaw investment deal origination & sourcing, due diligence as well as financing (debt & equity) and Joint Venture operations in the Oil & Gas upstream segment. During his time at Trafigura, Pascal was also investment manager in charge of all Oil & Gas related Equity and Debt investments of the Funds within Galena. Pascal was an advisor to any oil & gas upstream transaction in Trafigura Group including the trade finance team, the deal sourcing and raising finance through equity (private & public) and debt (senior & junior) in global markets. He continues to sit on the boards of a number of private and listed energy and product trading concerns. He has a Masters in Economics and Finance from University of Geneva.

  • Krishnan P. NAGENDRAN

    Krishnan is the Managing Partner of Ducat Capital SA (Geneva – Switzerland) with a broad remit to cover investment and strategic decisions across the global group. Krishnan sits on the board of Ducat Trading RSA. He started his career working in M&A for upstream and midstream energy assets while based in Kuwait. He subsequently ran all private debt and private equity strategies for his family office since 2010 from London and then Geneva, before co-founding the African-focused commodities and logistics group << DUCAT >> with Adrian BECIRI in 2014. He holds a First Class Degree from Cambridge University in Modern History focusing on 19th Century German Philosophy and the Decolonisation Movements of the 1950s and 1960s before obtaining a MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics; looking at price discovery mechanisms in commodity trading between State Owned Enterprises. He has also studied at the University of Chicago (Booth Business School).
